It’s a new year 2015!
What does the new year have to do with resolutions in the first place?
It gives us an opportunity to clear our slate and start over. Aren’t we lucky. Permission to overlook our actions from the year before and get a do-over.
Resolutions are made as if we are granted a jeanie, from a magic bottle.
I want to lose weight, I want to get my finances in order. This will be the year I get married, save for my retirement, lose the last 10lbs, start meditating, sleep more.
I will get my career in order, get my health and fitness on track. Quit smoking, stop eating processed foods. Blah blah blah….the list goes on and on.
We all have the desires, goals, wishes and wants. We start out with gusto and determination. Everyday we remind ourselves why we are making these resolutions in the first place. I want this year to be the year that I can finally say I did this (fill in the blank) _______?
We are laser focused. We are strong, nothing is going to stop us.
We probably start to lack with our motivation or our determination by mid year, June. Some of us as early as March.
We might have lost some drive to continue with our resolutions.

Here it is….It’s called “The Middle”
All beginings are great. The begining of movie, the begining days at the gym, or at the begining of a new year.
The begining of your diet, the begining of your favorite book. The first handful of chips in the bag. All these first or begining moments are filled with anticipation, excitement and desire.
Excitement to try new classes at the gym, Excitement to begin to cook or eat a better diet. Anticipation for the rest of the movie or book. Anticipation for you to see the scale go down. Excitement and Anticipation is part of you in Jan. and Feb.
However, the secret is in the middle. The middle of the movie you make your decision that you are either intrigued to finish it or your not. The middle of the bag of chips all of a sudden isn’t that tasty as it was in the first handful or two. Hmm, that middle again. The middle months of your diet or clean eating…you might have lost a bit of creativity for cooking/preparing your foods. Let’s face it it’s JUNE and the warm weather is upon us. Let’s talk about the middle months of exercising. The heat, your lack of energy due to the heat.
The secret is “The Middle” which equals WORK! That’s it, I said it and I gave it to you straight.
Next year on this very same day….Will you look back at your accomplishments from these resolutions today 1/1/2015 How will you celebrate You?
