Join me for some lovin’

Hello loves,

It’s the month of love!

Valentine’s Day is a love holiday that we are going to celebrate this year in a big way.

It’s a beautiful opportunity to fall in love again, with the most important person in your life…YOU!

Let’s indulge in some lovin’ and some #selfcare

When was the last time you got a massage, a mani/pedi, even a day at the spa?

When was the last time you read a good book, even a chapter?

When was the last time you took a bubble bath, or kicked you shoes off and put your feet up and just …chillaxed?

Women are born nurturers, who sadly forget to nurture themselves.

Remind yourself of the  words of the flight attendants, upon take off “put your mask on first, then your child’s”

Without proper #selfcare we wouldn’t be able to care for others.

Most of us are blessed with love from families and friends. Some of us are blessed by the love of a significant other.  However, whatever your current situation, you are blessed with the opportunity to LOVE YOURSELF.

We all have such different qualities and gifts that make us beautiful.

What makes you beautiful?

Just like there are no two snowflakes that are the same, there are no two women who are the same.

If you are like most women I work with, “me time” needs to be carved out or penciled in.

Join me this month for some lovin’ (it’s only 28 days)

Follow these 5 simple daily rituals and you will be glowing with #selflove almost instantly.

1)  Every chance you get look in the mirror and say “I love you (insert your name)” Then look at your favorite feature and declare

Ex: “I love you Susie, because you have a great smile”

Then look back and say “I love you (insert your name) then think of what special quality/gift you possess.

Ex: ” I love you Susie, because you have the best sense of humor.

2) Upon awakening, open your eyes and smile. Smile in bed as soon as you wake.

Studies show that smiling improves your mood immediately. A smile uses fewer muscles than frowning, hence less wrinkles.

Throughout your day, smile so much it hurts xo

3) Carve out or pencil in 1/2 hour a day of “me time” Nurture your inner Goddess.  Get a massage, mani/pedi or any spa treatment. Read a book, take a bath, and indulge in some decadent dark chocolate.  Whatever you do in this precious time…cherish it #selfcare #selflove  Please share pics of you in“me time”  and use these hashtags. Be sure to tag me on Maria’s Mountain (@mariasmountain) Share the lovin’

4) Move!! As a fitness professional, I know the importance of moving both physically and mentally and its effects on the body.  Whether it’s walking, stretching or even dancing like no one’s watching.  MOVE MOVE MOVE!

5)Eat real food. Make healthy choices.  I am embarking on an intense nutrition course and learning so much.  The body’s ability to digest and absorb are the keys to optimal health. Eat mindfully. Don’t eat if you are stressed, rushed, or even in a bad mood.  Make your food choices with this thought “Will this nourish me?”

If you are rushed or stressed, opt for a green juice or smoothie. Easier to digest than food.

I wish you a month of love and selfcare,

I love you

Maria xoxo
