Happy New Year and Happy New Decade
When we think about the next ten years and where we will be, it can seem overwhelming. Even a year from now can seem daunting.
That’s why I need to address a very important issue, INFLAGING.
What is inflaging? Inflamation+aging=disease.
We have all heard about inflammation and how it wrecks out body, Inflammation can cause a myriad of diseases. Diabetes, Autoimmune disease, arthritis, Neurological diseases, Alzheimer’s and the dreaded C word. Need I go on?
The bad news is chronic inflammation and aging = DISEASE AND DEATH.
Did I get your attention? I know this is no way to start a new year, let alone a new decade. Or is it?
The good news, YOU can greatly reduce inflammation. Want to know how? There are no shortcuts, are you ready.
Try eating foods that reduce inflammation and promote healthy microbiome in your gut. Gut health is just as important. In fact in a recent study by Harvard health, our brain health is directly connected to your gut. If you want to remain cognitive and without dementia or Alzheimers, then pay attention to the foods and the quality of your foods that you eat now.
Here are some foods that you can enjoy on a anti-inflammation lifestyle. Notice, I didn’t say DIET. Not me, you will never hear that word. It’s not a quick fix, it’s a way of life.
- Tomatoes (Organic)
- Avocado Oil (Organic)
- Green leafy veggies (spinach, kale and collards, of course organic)
- nuts like almonds and walnuts
- fatty fish like Sardines, salmon (wild caught) and some tunas
- Fruits, like berries, cherries and oranges
Here are some foods to avoid at all costs.
- refined carbohydrates (white flour)
- French fries, anything really fried
- SODA can’t stress this one enough
- Red meat (processed meat too, unless grass fed)
- Margarine, shortening or lard
There you have it. Happy Inflaging this new year and this new decade.
Your Welcome,
In love and health because “everything matters in midlife and beyond”
