What ageotype are you?

There was recently a study done from Stanford University School of medicine that introduced us to the 4 types of aging.

The genetics professor who coined the term “Ageotypes” is  Dr. Michael Synder

The study profiled people in their 40’s -60’s. over a two year span. He looked at specific biomarkers for each individual person.

The research determined that people generally age differently according to their specific body and biomarkers.

Good news, before I continue, you have the ability to counteract your increased biomarkers with some specific behavioral changes.

Here are the 4 types

1.METABOLIC

2.IMMUNE

3. LIVER

4. KIDNEY

Here is how we look at each one specifically.

Let’s take Metabolic for instance. We all have a chronological age, but based on our metabolism and our body mass index BMI, we also have a metabolic age.

Do you know yours?

In my ML Method membership I suggest the ladies invest in a simple scale that will give them this information.

It literally costs under $25 dollars and you can get it here

Since I don’t want this blog post to go on forever, let’s stick with the first ageotype, Metabolic

When you find out your metabolic age, you can most definitely get younger with some specific behavioral changes.

First change you can make is nutrition. What we eat directly affects how we age. Stay away from processed foods and white flour to start with. Increase your fiber. Stay away from sugar and limit your alcohol consumption.  Lowering your BMI will require you to change your diet and really pay attention to what goes in your mouth.

The second behavioral change is to exercise. I fully believe in movement in general but being a midlife expert in fitness and lifestyle, I can tell you it’s not just movement without a plan. Meaning just taking a walk for 30 min a day isn’t going to benefit your heart and it’s certainly not going to lower your metabolic age.

You need a clear specific plan. I can offer you my membership. The monthly fitness calendar has targeted, specific workouts that will include cardio, strength, flexibility, mobility and FUN!

If you want to get younger as you age, you must first find out what kind of ageotype you are, and then take specific steps to get younger.

You can read about more of the ageotypes here
