What’s sleep got to do with the new year?

 

Happy New Year! 2019  

 

It’s that time of the year when we make new resolutions, we strive to do better and we dream bigger. We think of this day as a clean slate, a new fresh start.

In actuality, everyday is a new 24 hours given to you to start fresh. Just say’in

As a Life coach who specializes in working with women over 50, I use a tool like the vision board or what some call a desire map,  to help me and my clients create their year ahead.

Before you start get magazines, any type of photo’s and the most enjoyable music for you to connect to your inner spirit. Some women use \poster paper or some use a frame. Whatever you want to display your vision board. Once you get all your supplies, turn off all distractions, yup I mean your cell phones, and start tocut out pictures that inspire you. Maybe they are places you’d like to travel to, or maybe they are pictures of items of desire for you. This is your board, there is no right and wrong. You get to create and dream. Have fun. 

It’s a way for you to visually see what you want to create, now and in your future. Look at it everyday or better yet, every evening before bed,

There is a certain part of the brain called the Frontal Cortex that allows is to feel emotion and control all behaviors. When you frequently look at your vision board, it sends the brain a message that you already have what your seeking.

Did you ever want something very specific,like a certain black dress? All of a sudden it’s all over social and it seems you’re seeing it on everyone.

This is called the reticular activating system. What you desire, your brain brings your awareness to be able to see more of it.

Which brings me to my resolution or goal for 2019

I theme my year “Ease & Flow” then I month by month I create a blueprint of what I desire with ease and flow.

This year I am very serious about my sleep. I want to make some small changes that can help with the quality of my sleep.

I know the importance of sleep so I want to improve mine.

Visit me in 6 months to hear about my results. Here are my resolutions or goals for 2019

  1. improve my quality of sleep
  2. take 3 vacations  this year
  3. maintain my weight or lose a few pounds
  4. eat and exercise with intention and purpose
  5. get my side hustle business up and running

 

Go, get your vision board up. If this didn’t work, why the heck would I and so many others, be doing it,  year after year?
