Did that get your attention? That’s right 2020 is right around the corner. New Years Day will be upon us, new goals, new resolutions and new plans for the new year.
I actually find June to be more impactful in setting resolutions or goals. In my years of coaching clients, the last 6 months are really when the wheels start spinning and action begins.
Let’s check in.
In January we set goals or resolutions, where are you now? Did you lose some weight? Did you make exercise part of your life? Did you speak to the financial advisor to plan for your retirement? Did you set up boundaries with your grown adult children?
Don’t worry, you’ve got 6 more months before you need to make new resolutions.
Here is a coaching principle we use in The ML Method. Feel into the future. Here is an example.
I want you to take a minute to think about December 31, 2019. What will you feel like if you are saying the same resolutions? I want to lose weight, this time I’m really going to do it. I want to exercise but I don’t know where to start, but this is the year 2020. I want to retire soon and travel but I really do need to sit down with a professional and plan it. I am definitely doing that this year.
What does that feel like? What did your 2019 look like? You weren’t living with intention or purpose, can you see that?

So to be completely transparent here is my mid year check in. Read the January post and you can see what my goals/resolutions were for 2019.
- A theme of Ease & Flow in 2019
- improve my sleep
- maintain my weight or loose a few pounds.
- travel at least 3 vacations for the year.
- Get my business up and running
Let’s take my resolution, to improve my sleep.
I bought a pair of blue light glasses, because I like to read before I actually sleep. I read on my iPad or my kindle so the blue light glasses have been a game changer for me. They block out the blue light which effects your circadian rhythm. When the sun goes down it sends signals to our bodies to start producing melatonin, a hormone to help us sleep. The blue light glasses are said to stop the actual blue light from our screens from wrecking havoc on our sleep.
I must say, this along with paying attention to how much water I consume after 5 has made a huge difference. I am also a big fan of accupuncture. Since menopause, I’ve been going at least once a month. The Accupuncture treatments along with my yoga and meditation practice has definitely made a difference for me. Yes, I get hot flashes, but the intensity was reduced with accupuncture. I never suffered with mood swings, I attribute that to the improvement in my sleeping. Let’s face it ladies, hot-flashes with lack of sleep, poor eating habits and lack of movement, a recipe for the crazies.:)
We’ve got 6 more months ladies, what can you do?
